Skalatones
from Sweden take ska music to an even higher level with their second album
"Tune In". Together with two ska legends from the 2 Tone
era - singer Charley Anderson (ex Selecter) and producer Lynval
Golding (The Specials) - the band have put together 12 tracks in a
brand new ska style The album was recorded in February, and produced by Lynval Golding who came over to Sweden from Seattle. He was a great inspiration during the recording and mixing of the album. Lynval added his huge knowledge and experience of ska music to the production, and there is no doubt that it had a positive impact on the band sound. The songs blend the Skalatones (sk)attitude with 2 Tone, traditional rock steady and that lovely go-wild-skank-till-you-drop sound, but you can also hear other musical influences, including music from Africa and New Orleans, jazz and reggae. The new album is relased the 10th of May 1999. |
